Notes
a. Note:   He lived in Stoltzenbherg by Danzig, and migrated to Neuenburg in 1789, and later to Rosenthal.
He was originally from Stoltzenberg by Danzig, Prussia, but appears to have moved to the city of Danzig by 1776. He migrated from Prussia to the Chortitza Colony, S. Russia in 1789 (P. Rempel, p. 2; B. H. Unruh, p. 296). In the 1793 Chortitza Colony Heads of Households List he is listed in Neuenburg (B. H. Unruh, p. 211). In the 1795 Chortitza Colony Census he is listed at Rosenthal #8 with his son-in-law Johann Schroeder (B. H. Unruh, p. 238). In the 1801 Chortitza Colony List of People who were not Homeowners he is listed as residing in Rosenthal. He was 64 years old when he died. His age as given in the 1795 Census would suggest that he was born ca 1735, but this is inconsistent with his age as given in the 1801 Chortitza Colony List of People who were not Homeowners and his age at death, both of which would suggest he was born ca 1738.
