Notes
a. Note:   Ron Siemens (Bragg Creek) note: "Russian date of birth September 16, 1801." Probably the difference between the Gregorian and Julian calendars.
In the 1858 Schoenwiese Census is listed at Schoenwiese #34. The entry says he transferred to Chortitza in 1852. His n. s. birth date was 28 Sep 1801. The diary of Jacob Niebuhr (b. 4 May 1862) gives his death date as 21 Aug 1870, but The Old Colony, p. 180 and 397, give his death date as 8 Nov 1870. One source says he was born in Schoenwiese, but this seems likely to be incorrect since his birthplace is given as Chortitza in the 1801 Chortitza Colony Vital Records.
