Text: Odessa Region State Archives, Fund 6, Inventory 1, File 92. Microfilmed in August, 2000. This file contains a list of single and landless Mennonites in the Chortitza Colony dated April 25, 1801 among other things.
Note: In the 1776 W. Prussia Census he is listed in Klein Montau with 4 sons and 2 daughters (H. Penner, p. 422). He was a member of the Heubuden Gemeinde. He migrated from Prussia to Neuendorf, Chortitza, S. Russia in 1789 (P. Rempel, p. 32). He represented the Heubuden Gemeinde in the election of ministers helded in Dubrovno, Russia in February 1789 (The Old Colony, p. 107). In the 1795 Chortitza Colony Census he is listed at Neuendorf #23 (B. H. Unruh, p. 241). In the 1801 and 1802 Censuses he is listed at Neuendorf #48 (B. H. Unruh, p. 256). He may have died in Neuendorf between 1802 and 1808 because he is not found in Neuendorf in the 1808 Census.
