a. Note:   The 1806 Chortitza Vital records entry for #529340 says he was residing in Chortitza, Chortitza Colony, at which point in time he was not a landowner. B. H. Unruh, p. 301, states he was born 8 Oct 1783. In the Oct 1816 Chortitza Colony Census he is listed in the village of Chortitza among the landless. In the 1850 Chortitza Colony Census he was listed at Chortitza #59 per his son Peter's entry in the 1852 List of People living outside the Chortitza Colony.
