Notes
a. Note:   Another source has birthdate as 19 Jan 1853, but that conflicts with the birth of another sibling.
A97* says he was born 15 Jan 1855; S1B-149 says 12 Jan 1855; C74B-123 and C78B-116 say 19 Jan 1853; S1A65* says 12 Jan 1853; 1901 Rhineland census at Dist 6 Fam 4, says 12 Jan 1855, which agrees with S1B149 and is probably what S1A65* also says (mis-transcribed). S1B149 shows date of death as 11 Nov 1929, baptized 20 May 1874. Vitals shows death as 10 Nov 1929, at age 74. Another source has birthdate as 19 Jan 1853, but that conflicts with the birth of another sibling. Peter was one of the three school trustees who went to disarm the Altona teacher Heinrich Toews (b. 6 May 1866) who had shot three students, killing Peter's seven year-old daughter Anna. It's not clear if Heinrich managed to shoot all three trustees or just Peter. Heinrich then shot himself in the head, and died three months later. He appeared to be recovering and the trial date was nearing when he died.
