Notes on Dietrich Rempel (b. 1761). Death Source: Ketler, Agnes. Notes on Dietrich Rempel (b. 1761). Notes: From: "Genealogy of Diedrich Rempel", C. G. Rempel, Menn. Bible Sem., Elkhart, 1963. Diedrich was probably born in East Prussia. In 1795, when Deidrich was three, his parents moved to Rosenthal, Chortitza Colony in South Russia, with their three children. In 1816 Diedrich married Maria Nickel. Both were 24 years of age at the time. Eleven children were born to them. Diedrich died at the early age of 51 while his wife outlived him by twenty years. It should be noted that the sources notes clearly list Maria's death date as 1883, which conflicts with the statement that she outlived Diedrich by 20 years. The notion that he was born in Prussia and immigrated as a child conflicts with the immigration and marriage infromation on alleged parents. Either the notion is wrong, or he is in the wrong family, or the immigration information and place of marriage is incorrect on parents.
