Note: "Elenah Adams" was born on 23 Oct 1839 according the Vital Records of Westminster (published by Franklin Rice, 1908). According to her obituary in the Waseca Herald dated 23 Feb 1909 Ellen was "born in Westminster, Massachusetts, Oct. 23, 1839. On Dec. 13, 1868, she became the second wife of Nathan Wood of Randolph, Pennsylvania. In March 1872, the family came to this county and here the father died June 16, 1889. Mrs. Wood continued to make her home in this city until her children grew to maturity and left home to enter business. A little more than a year ago she went to Colorado to make her home with her daughter..." According to a granddaughter of Ellen and Nathan (see corresp. file with Margy Day), "Nathan Wood was born at Westminster, Oct. 18, 1822. He married April 16, 1850, Melinda Adams, born Westminster, Jan 28, 1830. They lived in Randolph, Pa., where she died Oct. 31, 1867. Nathan returned to Westminster, where he married his first wife's youngest sister, Ellen Adams, on Dec. 13, 1868, who was born Oct. 23, 1839. They lived at Woodville, Minnesota. This was a farm at what is now Waseca. He died here June 16, 1889. This was my grandfather. His children were Sarah, Edward, Francis, Catherine, Charles, Ellen, William, Mary, Edward, Orlando... Charles Wood, who is my father, married Annabelle Kelley June 17, 1901. They resided in several towns in southern Minnesota coming to Ranier about nineteen years ago. He is ticket agent in Ranier. Their children are Wanda, Winafred, Emmett, Annabelle, Mary, and Margaret."
