Note: According to the "History of Westminster, Massachusetts - 1728-1893" (William Sweetzer Heywood, 1893) Aldin was a son of George and Sally (Merriam) Adams, and "was a blacksmith by trade, and also a farmer." Eliza's ancestry is also listed in this book. Another book, "A History of Westminster, Massachusetts, 1893-1958", compiled by the Westminster Historical Society, edited by Newton F. Tolman, includes a biographical sketch of Aldin's family. "Alden Farwell Adams" was born on 29 Jan 1837 according the Vital Records of Westminster (published by Franklin Rice, 1908). Aldin was living with his parents in the state census of 1865 and was listed as a blacksmith.
