Note: George and family were farming in the 1880, 1900, 1905, and 1910 census of West Turin. Stacie's mother, brother, and sister, were living with her during the 1920 census of West Turin. The 1910 census indicates George had immigrated in 1829. According to his obituary George died at his home one mile west of Constableville. "He had been in feeble health for sometime, but was confined in the house only a short time. He was born in Strasburg, France, August 20, 1825. He was the son of John and Catherine Peters, and had resided in this town since he was three years of age. Mr. Peters was a successful farmer. He was twice married. His first wife being Louise Reams to whom he was married July 23 1861. After her death he married Eustacia Gleasman, 13 June 1877. Mr. Peters was of a quiet, unassuming nature, a man who had the respect of the community in which he had so many years resided. He was a kind husband and father, and will be missed in his home. He was the last of a large family and for many years had been a member of the M.E. Church at Crofoot Hill. Besides his wife he is survived by the following children: George W. of Boonville; Louise M. and Mrs. Christian Warren of East Martinsburg; Mrs. Richard Horth, Lowville; Andrew C. of Richmond Hill; John L. of Rome; Mrs. Eugene Brown and Charles E. of Constableville..."
