Note: Per was born on 2 December 1845 in the parish of Tryde in the county of Malmohus according to his birth record on Ancestry.com (Sweden, Church Records, 1500-1937). Peter (known in Sweden as Per Jonsson Lundin) and his family moved to the United States in 1881 from Malmo, Sweden, and settled at Sheridan, Mich. (his brother John had immigrated to the U.S. in 1874 and had settled at Sheridan). Per "Lundon", 35; Ann, 30: Nils, 4; and Martin, 2, arrived in New York aboard the steamship Erin, on 21 August 1881 (for photo of the S.S. Erin visit NorwayHeritage.com). The 1884 and 1900 census reports his occupation as a farmer. He was also "an expert machinist and specifically a blacksmith by trade" according to a biographical sketch of his son, Nels. He reportedly changed his name from Per to Peter when he became a blacksmith. Both the 1900 and 1910 census indicates that Anna had had 8 children but only 6 were living at the time (apparently 2 died young while still in Sweden). They purchased a farm in Sidney Twp. in 1894 which is where Peter died in 1907 and where Anna died in 1931.
