    Henrich was the son of David and Barbara (Herr) Martin and lived on t h e Martin Homestead David patented in 1738. Henry was ordained minist e r in 1770 and later as bishop to succeed Christian Burkholder who di e d in 1809.
    He was married second to Elizabeth Hoffman, widow of George Hoffman . T heir original prenuptial agreement, written in 1816, is preserve d at t he Muddy Creek Farm Library, 296 Wheat Ridge Dr., Ephrata, PA 1 7522.
