    The Erie Daily Times 9 December 1904Passed Away Peacefully ***********SAM WOODS, FORMER CHIEF OF POLICE AND OLD NEWSPAPER MAN, DIED THIS MORNING AT 4 O'CLOCK-SKETCH OF HIS CAREER ***********Sam Woods, former alderman and more recently chief of police, and better known by his long connection with the press of Erie, passed peacefully away at 4 o'clock this morning at his home, 15 West Seventh street, second floor. He was nearly 66 years of age.The end was touchingly sad. Mr. Woods was strickenwith what in the end was his fatal illness on July 2 last. For a long time his life was despaired of, but ater a couple of months he rallied, and resumed almost his old-time ?????. Wednesday evening he was stricken with paralysis and lay only partly conscious till this morning. He could
