Delmarva ObitsHerman William Otto Steenken died at his home near Harmony on Tuesday, March 12, 2002. He was 91.He was born on August 4, 1910 on his farm near Harmony the son of the late Otto Steenken, Sr. and Emma Worm Steenken. His wife Ruth Howard Steenken died on February 11, 1995.He was primarily a grain and poultry farmer but he also raised produce, did carpentry and sawed lumber. His farm on Fowling Creek had been in his family for 100 years.He was a member of Harmony United Methodist Church where he was a former member of the Board of Trustees and also held several other offices. He was a member of the Caroline County Farm Bureau, was a former member of the Delmarva Poultry Industry and for many years was associated with the Harmony Helpers.He is survived by his daughter, E. Reta Kraus of Preston and two sons, Wm. Kenneth Steenken, Sr. and J. Ronnie Steenken, both of Preston, 19 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, a brother, Otto Steenken, Jr. of Preston, and three sisters, Marguerite McNeal of Preston, Florence Bildstein of Easton, Maryland and Minnie Fountain of Pennsville, New Jersey and many nieces and nephews. A sister, Gladys Klemowicz preceded him in death.Funeral services for him will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 16, 2002 at Framptom-Hawkins-Eskow Funeral Home, P.A. in Federalsburg with the Rev. Carol Price officiating. Interment will follow in Junior Order Cemetery in Preston. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.The family has requested that donations be made in his memory to either Preston Volunteer Fire Company P.O.
