      Text: Certificate of Disability of Discharge: JOHN G. RORIE, a private in Captain Robert E. Trimble's (H) 14th Reg., Ark. Vol., was enlisted by E.W. Turner, Mustering Officer at ..llville, AR, on the 13th day of July 1861, to service one year; he was born in the state of Tennessee, is thirty-four years of age, five feet, ten & seven-eighth inches high, of a fair complexion, blue eyes, dark hair, & by occupation when enlisted, a Blacksmith. During the last two months said soldier has been unfit for duty thirty days. -- I. Z.C. COX, Lieut. Comd of Company ()14th Regt, Ark. Vol. here add my statements of the facts know to me concerning the disears of JOHN G. RORIE, he has been unfit for duty as above stated on account of a dislocation of the ankle joint. I therefore recommend his discharge from the service. -- /s/ Z.C. Cox 2nd Lieut, Comd of Comp. ( ), -- Springfield, AR, Apr. 7th, 1862: I certify that I have carefully examined JOHN G. RORIE, a private in Capt. Robt. E. Trimble's Co. ( ) 14th Regt. Ark. John G, b1828 TN, & his nephew, Absalom J., b 1838 TN, suffered much anquish in deciding which side to join in during The War Between the States. Both enlisted as privates in Co. H., 14th Regt. Arkansas Infantry of the CSA. John G. suffered a dislocated ankle & was discharged in April of 1862. Absalom J. was captured at Port Hudson, LA, Jul 9 1863. After release, he returned to Stone Co, AR. In 1864, John G. & Absalom J. joined the 3rd Volunteer Cavalry USA[?]..."
