Beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and dear friend to so many, passed away peacefully in her home on January 29, 2012. She was predeceased by her husband, Arthur.Doris is survived by her son, Ronnie Stover of Virginia Beach, her son Robert Stover and his wife Andrea, her grandchildren Ron Stover and his wife Van, Brandon Matheny, Meghan Stover, Michela Pearl, and Jacob Stover. In addition, she is also survived by three great grandsons, one great granddaughter, two sisters and a brother. She was a devoted mother and homemaker as well as a beloved co-worker at Wornoms Arts and Crafts during the 1980s. She was a longtime member of Scott Memorial UMC and was a devoted Sunday School attendee. She also worked on a number of charitable endeavors throughout her life. She was an avid gardener and there was no plant too far gone that she could not save. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. There will be a visitation at Scott Memorial Methodist Church, 409 First Colonial Road, Virginia Beach, VA on Thursday, February 2nd, 2012 from 2-3 P.M. A celebration of the life of Doris will be held at the church immediately following the visitation at 3 P.M. \par She will be buried on Saturday in her family's plot in her birthplace in Eden, N.C. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the American Cancer Society or the Scott Memorial UMC Memorial Fund. H.D.
