One source says she was born in Chaffee, MO over near Cape Girardeau. I'm not sure that was possible. Her parents had 2 children buried in Jolliff Cem. in Oregon Co. in 1874 & 1878. And her funeral card said she was born in Oregon Co, MO.

Mrs. Belle Baty, age 88, a resident of Rt. 1, Bertrand, passed away Monday, April 27 at 8;30 p.m. at the Chaffee General Hospital after an illness of one year. She was born November 28, 1881 in Oregon County, Missouri, the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Pace French.
Mrs. Baty had lived in Mississippi County for the past 19 years. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Charleston. Her husband, John Baty, preceded her in death in February 1949.
Surviving are: two daughters, Mrs. Albin Dunkin of West Plains, Missouri and Mrs. Cecil Warren of Rt. 1, Bertrand, Missouri; two sons, William Baty and John Baty, both of West Plains, Missouri; 12 grandchildren; 24 greatgrandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. One son, Elmer, preceded her in death."
