    W. W. I Draft Registration Card has him living in Strandquist, Marshall County, MN where he is the school principal at the consolidated school. He?s of tall height, medium build, blue eyes, and light hair.

    Obituary: Funeral services for George Nettelund, 96, of this city were held Saturday at 11 a.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church. Netteland died Tuesday evening at his home at 207 Kendall Avenue South. Rev. Berton Hushagen officiated at the services. Mrs. Carl Nordvall was the organist and Mrs. William Penning, the soloist. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery with the Green Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Dr. Robert Dicken, Richard Dicken, Donald Dicken, Duane Dicken, Edward Buerkle, and David Penning.

    George L. Netteland, a son of the late Lars G. and Annie Skeire Netteland, was born June 13, 1884 in Rocksbury township, Pennington county. He attended school and grew to manhood there. Later, he attended Moorhead Teachers school adn the University of Minnesota, graduating in 1914.

    On August 22, 1908 he was married at St. Hilaire to Elizabeth Foss. This couple lived at various places while Netteland taught school in rural Thief River Falls, Strandquist, Holt, Oklee, Peterson and Goodridge. After he retired from teaching in 1940, the couple moved to Thief River Falls. Since moving to this city, Netteland sold insurance and did tax work until recently. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran church and the Golden Years.

    He is survived by his wife, a son, Loyal Netteland, Holland, NY; two daughters: Mrs. Angeline Buerkle, NEw York Mills; and Mrs. Alvin (Eleanor) Dicken of this city; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a brother, Otto Netteland, Thief River Falls; and two sisters: Mrs. Louise Bjerk, Thief River Falls, and MRs. Anna Gryting, Tucson, Ariz.

    He was preceded in death by a son, Robert; a brother, Alberg; and two sisters: Caroline and Emma.
