Jacob Amundson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Hans Amundson, died on June 17, at the home of his parents, residing on a farm near Hazel. He was born at Kristiansand, Norway, October 4, 1874. In 1880, he, with his parents, moved to Decorah, Iowa, from there to St. Hilaire in 1883, at which place he has made his home until death called him.
Mr. Amundson was a man of excellent character, and greatly admired by all who knew him. He was taken ill sometime ago with cancer, and death was not unexpected. He leaves to mourn his loss, his father and mother, and one sister, Mrs. Hans Arveson.
The funeral services were held at St. Pauli church the following Friday. Rev. Aastad and Rev. Gryting officiating.
