    Settled first in Montevideo, then came to Thief River Falls for employment in the saw mill in 1901. In the fall of 1904, they moved to a farm four miles southeast of Thief River Falls in Rocksbury Township. They purchased the farm from a brother of Peter Engelstad. Mr. Kvall continued working at the saw mill for some time, walking cross country to the Soo Line Railroad and into town.
