    The Bolling Volume by Judge Zelma Wells Price, (q.v.) Vol. VIII, Part I, p. 6.

    Only son of William Wofford of the second generation. This William Wofford is
    referred to in records of Prince Georges Co., MD as William Wofford, Sr. names
    shown as both "Wofford" and "Wafford."

    Judge Price states that the names of the last four sons of this William Wofford
    come from her old family records with no dates, but thinks that the abstracts
    of Maryland records shown in her account of this family reflect these sons.

    She found no record of any of the sons of William Wofford in S.C., except
    William Wofford.

    Following records from Archives, Md.; Andrea MSS., p. 28:

    14 Aug 1727, deed of gift to Elizabeth Willobee, from William Wofford, SR. Gift
    of two mares. (Same to Sarah Willobee). Recorded 16 Nov., 1727, request of
    Michael Urion.

    28 Nov. 1730 (recorded), William Wofford, Sr., of Prince Georges Co., Md. to
    John Hyde & Co., of London, exrs. est. of Col. John Bradford, dec'd., of Prince
    Geroges Co., deed for 78 acres of land, tract called "The William & Ann:,
    adjoining tract called "The John & Mary" in possession of John Day's orphans.

    Note: Andrea Mss. states that the Days were in Richmond Co., Fa. with the

    12 June, 1729, deed from William Wofford, Sr., to Adam Miller, conveying 50
    acres of land known as "Turkey Thicket", on eastern branch of Potomac River.
    Wit." Jahn Mackall, Ralph Crabb. Recorded 7 Nov., 1739, request of Adam Miller.

    2 Nov., 1730, William Wofford, Sr., of Prince Georges Co., Md., bill of sale.
    Consideration 1430 lbs. tobacco, paid by John Stanbury, of London, merchant,
    and William Maudint (Manduit, Mauduit). Receipt signed by said William
    Wofford,Sr. and Adam Miller, of Prince Geroges Co., MD. Recorded 7 Nov., 1730.
