Richard E. Martin died peacefully in his sleep on January 26, 2012. He was born in Seattle, WA to Henry F. Martin and Belle (Larson) Martin on June 23, 1931, along with his twin brother, Robert F. Martin. He was married to Barbara (Bullock) Martin and during their 28 year marriage, they had five children. In August 2001, Richard and Janice (Morrow) Martin married in Reno, NV.
Richard first worked at Bartell Drugs then he accepted a job with Boeing, where he worked many years as a crane operator until 1970 when Boeing had a downturn in employment. Richard was very proud to be a crane operator and a Union Shop Steward during his years at Boeing. Later he worked 22 years at the Rainier Brewery as a member of the Teamsters Union, until he retired.
Richard loved boating, fishing, spending time with family and taking trips to visit Janice's family. He was an avid Mariner and Seahawks fan. He will be dearly missed, especially by his loving wife, Janice. Richard requested that his ashes be spread over the Puget Sound.
He is survived by his wife, Janice; his children, Richard (Marilyn) Martin, Gloria (Lloyd Smith), Laura (Norm Goyette), and Lana (Bill Rust); as well as his grandchildren, Veronica (Martin) Lannom, Tim Smith, Janet (Smith) Belleme, Melissa Goyette, and his great- grandchildren, Averie Lannom, Elyana Belleme, Gabriel Smith, and Titus Belleme.
