The following is the response to a doubt I had about Thomas Boynton's supposed marriage to Isabel daughter of Sir William Normanville, posted on SGM by John Watson on 1 May 2009:

    Jim,

    Some small addittions:

    Your No. 10 Thomas Boynton

Thomas Boynton of Acklam, son of Thomas Boynton of Acklam married Margaret Conyers, daughter of Robert Conyers of Coatham, Durham and Ormesby, Yorkshire and presumably, his first wife Juliana de Percy. He mentions her brother John Conyers [of Hornby] in his will, dated 28 July 1402 and makes him one of his executors[1].

At the the inquisition post mortem of Margaret widow of Thomas de Boyneton, held on 29 October 1408 at Durham it was stated her heir was her son Christopher Boynton, aged 22 and that Johanna, aged 30, the wife of Thomas Bromfeld [Brounflete] and daughter of Robert Conyers and Aline [de la Legh] his [second] wife is the next heir of Robert Conyers and Aline his wife. She had held her lands, etc., in Seham, Plauseworth and Whitworth of the gift of John Conyers the brother of
Robert Conyers of Ormysby made to her and the said Robert Conyers of Ormysby and Aline his wife for the term of their respective lives. [2]

Their eldest son Sir Henry Boynton must have died before his mother:

On 3 September 1402, Sir Henry de Boynton son and heir of Monsieur Thomas de Boynton assigned to Lady Margaret, widow of the said Thomas, for her dower from manors of Acclom, Rouceby, Boynton and Snaynton, the moiety of the manor of Neuton sub Ounesbergh and all other lands of Thomas de Boynton in Yorkshire. Moiety of manor of Newton sub Ounesbergh and all property of Thomas de Boynton in Boynton and Snaynton: Witnesses: Monsieur John de Hotham, Monsieur Robert Conyers,
John de Ingelby, John Conyers. William de Laysyngby, Nicholas Gower, William de Clyff. Given at Acclom [3].
