    SIR JOHN CHIDIOK, of Chideock, &c., son and heir, born at Chideock, 1 November 1401, and baptized there. The King took his fealty, and he had livery of his father's lands, 17 July 1423, his homage being respited. On 18 October 1434, after the death of his mother, Alianore, he had livery of the manor of East Chelborough, his homage therefor being respited and his fealty ordered to be taken by the eschcator in cos. Somerset and Dorset: at the same time he obtained possession of the manors of Allownshay and Frampton-on-Severn. Sheriff of Somerset and Dorset, 1447-48.

    He married, between 24 April 1418 and 25 March 1425, Katherine, daughter of Sir Ralph DE LUMLEY, of Lumley, co. Durham [LORD LUMLEY], by Alianore, daughter of Sir John DE NEVILLE, of Raby in that county [LORD NEVILLE]. He died 6 March 1449. On 19 May 1450 his widow's dower was ordered to be assigned, the manors which she and her husband had held jointly at his death having been liberated to her on the previous day. She died 2 June 1461.     His coheirs were his two daughters. (1) Katherine, aged 22 and more, and then the wife (marriage contract dated 11 March 1436/7) of William Stafford, of Stinsford, Dorset, who was slain by the rebels, in Cade's rebellion, at Sevenoaks, 18 June 1450: she married, 2ndly, as 2nd wife (settlement, before marriage, 5 March 1450/1] Sir John Arundelle, of Lanherne, Cornwall, who was born and baptized at Bideford, Devon, 9 June 1421, and died 12 Nov. 1473: she married, 3rdly, as 3rd wife, Sir Roger Leukenore, of Lockerley, Hants, South Mimms, Middlesex, &c., who died 4 August 1478; she died 9 April 1479. [2] Margaret, aged 21 and more, and then the wife (married before 5 April 1441] William Stourton, afterwards Lord Stourton, who was aged 30 and more in 1462/3, and d. 18 February 1477/8: she married, 2ndly, Sir John Cheyne, K.G., of Compton, Enborne, and West Woodhay, Berks [Lord Cheyne], who died 30 May 1499,and was buried in Salisbury Cathedral Church: she d. shortly before 28 February 1499/1500. On 18 May 1450 the coheirs had livery of their purparties of the inheritance.
