Sir William le Bruyn, of South Ocikendon, &c., son and heir [of Sir Maurice le Brun, d. 17 Mar 1354/5 by Maud, dau. of Philip de la Rokele], aged 40 and more at his father's death. He m. Alice, daughter and evenutally coheir of Richard le Lacer or Lacier, of Bromley, Kent, citizen and mercer, twice Mayor of London, by Julian, his 1st wife. He d. 24 Feb 1361/2. His widow m. between 6 Feb 1362/3 (when she had lic. to marry whom she would) and 12 Jul 1365, Sir Robert de Marny (c), of Layer Marney, Essex, who was living 25 Sep 1394. (c) In the Scrope and Grosvenor controversy he [Robert de Marny] deposed, 15 Oct 1386, that he was 52 years of age; but as he also stated that he was first armed at the first relief of Stirling (1336), he was more probably 66.
Note: William's father was Maurice 1st Baron le Brun or Bruyn, and William was the son and heir. Yet CP does not give him the title. One of the CP entries under Edmund Haudlo (see my notes under John Haudlo), refers to William's son Ingram as the 3rd Lord Brun, but CP does not here give him a title as well.
