HENRY, EARL OF WARWICK, son and heir, by 1st wife. A minor at his father's death, he was granted the third penny of the County of Warwick, 1 June 1213. Orders issued in June 1216 for Warwick Castle to be delivered to Earl Henry and Thomas Basset; and he was surety with others, January 1217/8, for the fidelity of the children of William de Brewes on their release from prison. He was in the expedition against Bytham Castle, Lincs, February 1220/1; was with the King, at Bedford, August 1224; but supported Richard, Earl of Cornwall, at Stamford in his quarrel with Henry III, July-August 1227.

He married, 1stly, after 1205, Margery, elder daughter and (eventually, in her issue) coheir of Henry de OILLY, of Hook Norton, Oxon., by Maud, daughter of Humphrey DE BOHUN, CONSTABLE OF ENGLAND. He married, 2ndly, before 1 May 1220, Philippe, 1st daughter and coheir of Thomas BASSET, of Headington, Oxon. He died shortly before 17 October 1229, it is said on 10 October. Philippe married, before 4 November 1229, Richard SIWARD, from whom she was divorced in 1242. She died shortly before 29 November 1265 and was buried in Bicester Priory. Note: Rosie Bevan, SGM, proposes that Margery de Oilly, the 1st wife of Henry given in CP above, was actually his mother, being his father Waleran's 1st wife instead. See notes under Margery & Waleran.
