  • Note: He [John Williams] married, 2ndly, shortly after 19 April 1557, Margaret, da. of Thomas (WENTWORTH), 1st LORD WENTWORTH, by Margaret, daughter of Sir Adrian FORTESCUE. He died s.p.m.s. 14 October 1559 at Ludlow Castle and was buried 15 November, with great state, at Thame, when the Barony, if created by patent, became extinct, but if created by writ, fell into abeyance. M.I. at Thame. His widow, by whom he had no surviving issue, married, 10 October 1560, at St. Alphege's, London Wall, Sir William Drury, Lord Justice of Ireland (1578), who died s.p.m. about 13 October 1579 at Waterford, being buried in St. Patrick's Cathedral, Dublin. She married, 3rdly, before 15 July 1580, James CROFTS, Esquire, who survived her. She was living, 10 July 1587 and died about 20 July, perhaps in that year.
