The following is a post to soc.genealogy.medieval (Google Groups), by Ronnie Bodine on 8 Apr 1999:

MARGARET de GATESDEN. Soon after 1258 she became the wife of Sir John de Camoys (born c1247) and her father had given in frank marriage with his said daughter a moiety of the manor of Lasham, Hampshire. Sir John died 1298, before 4 June. By this marriage he secured a considerable estate in Sussex. By a very remarkable document, he transferred her and her goods and chattels to Sir William Paynel, and by deeds dated 1285 and 1289, demised to him the greater part of her inheritance.
She was married before July 1301 to Sir William Paynel, and it was in her right that he was described as of Trotton, which was part of her Gatesden inheritance. Margaret died shortly before Jan 1311. (CP, 2: 506-Camoys; Early Yorkshire Charters, 6: 270).
