  • Birth: ABT 1165 in Pattishall, Towcester, Northamptonshire, England

Northampton Castle was entrusted to him as a faithful subject of King Richard in 1191, and a year later was pardoned the scutage of Wales after personal service there as a knight of Simon de Wahull. He was Sheriff of Essex and Herts in 1194; and of Northants 1194. King John apparently doubted his loyalty in 1215, but he apparently convinced the King otherwise as his lands were restored by December 1215 (Complete Peerage, p. 312).
