  • Note: Douglas Richardson pointed out that, although most genealogists/historians name Joan "of Woodstock" because that was where they thought she was born, Joanna was actually called "Joan de la Tour" or "of the Tower" because she was born in the Tower of London. She died of the plague in Bordeaux while enroute to be married to Pedro future King of Castile & Leon.
