    --------------------------------

BARONY OF FITZWALTER (II, 3) 1328

JOHN (FITZWALTER), LORD FITZWALTER, son and heir, aged 13 and more at his father's death. On 5 June 1335, the King took his homage, though he was not yet of age, and & had livery of his father's lands. In October 1337 he was about to go beyond seas on the King's service, with the Earl of Northampton. He served continuously, in the retinue of the Prince of Wales, from the King's arrival at La Hogue, 12 July 1346, till his return to England. Having failed to come before the King to answer for certain felonies and trespasses for which he had been indicted and had been put in the exigend, he was sent to the Tower of London, 1 February 1351/2, but on 24 June following his manors, lands, and advowsons, with the issues as from the preceding 25 May, and his goods and chattels, were restored to him. He was summoned to Councils from 25 February 1341/2 to 20 June 1358, and to Parliament from 3 March 1340/1 to 20 November 1360, by writs directed Johanni fitz Wauter.

He married Alianore, daughter of Sir Henry DE PERCY, of Alnwick, Northumberland [LORD PERCY], by Idoine, or Imaine, daughter of Sir Robert DE CLIFFORD, Lord of Westmorland [LORD CLIFFORD]. She predeceased him. He died 18 October 1361. Both were buried in Dunmow Priory. [Complete Peerage V:476-7, (transcribed by Dave Utzinger)]

Note: I guess CP counts him 2nd Baron--they don't think his father was the 2nd Baron. I suppose I will go with Burke's on the numbering. Also, despite the report of him being 13 or more at his father's death, I cannot accept that Joan de Multon had a child at the age of 11. I am making him born much later.
