    He [John de Montagu] married, before the end of 1343, Margaret, according to modern doctrine, suojure BARONESS MONTHERMER, daughter and heir of Thomas DE MONTHERMER [LORD MONTHERMER]. He died 25 February or 4 March 1389/90,) and was buried in Salisbury Cathedral. On 12 June 1390 his widow, having done homage, had restored to her various manors which she held in her own right, and she received dower under writs of 9 April 1392.
