  • Note: Sir William Brereton, of Brereton, married Roesia, daughter of Ralph Vernon, of the ancient family of Barons of Shipbrooke, and his wife Mary Dacre, daughter of the Lord of Dacre. She was living 15th of Edward II, 1322, in which year she joins her husband in constituting their son, Richard Brereton, their attorney to receive seizin of lands in Brereton. In 1301 the same Sir William gives 100 marks to Thomas, son of Roger Davenport, for the marriage of his son John to William's daughter Margery, which marriage was dissolved in 1305. William and Roesia had issue: William, John, Peter, Richard, Nicholas, Margery and Matilda.
