    Count in the Triergau (Trèves), of the Bidgau, Count Palatine of Aix-la Chapelle (Aachen), Count Palatine of Lorraine [Ref: Han van der Voort http://home.planet.nl/~voort359/home3lorrn.html]

    Count Widric also appears as Wigeric in 899: he is often called Count of Bidgau, because he appears then in a charter for the church of Trier. By 916 he had become Count Palatine of Lotharingia (Lorraine) for Charles the Simple. He had died by 919 [Ref: ic (exet0133 AT sable.ox.ac.uk) 5 Oct 1996 msg to SGM]

    The Luxemburg family
    The earliest proved member of this family was Wigerich, *886, +by 919/926, Gf im Bidgau, Pfalzgraf, probably son of Odoacar/Regnier, Gf im Bliesgau/Thiergau und im Ardennergau; m. ca 910 Kunigunde N (fl 890) [the name of Kunigunde's father is unknown, but her mother was Ermentrude, dau.of King Louis II of Neustria and the West Franks.] [Ref: Miroslav Marek http://genealogy.euweb.cz/luxemburg/luxemburg1.html] Note: FWIW the river Blies flows from a few kms north of St. Wendel south thru Zweibrücken into the river Saar 15 km sse of Saarbrücken ...
