The following information is provided in a post-em by Curt Hofemann, curt_hofemann AT yahoo.com:

name: Winemar (Wynemarde of HANSLAPE) FLEMING [Ref: JamesDowAllen]

Wynemar the Fleming, later Wynemar de Hanslope who came over with William I had two sons. A grand-daughter married William Mauduit. Can anyone supply any info? The family spread to Warwick and East Anglia with variations Anslip, Anslope, Handslip etc. There was a grant of arms in the 16-17th centuries.

You will find a pedigree labelled "Hanslope, and Mauduit of Hanslope, Earl of Warwick" in George BAKER's "History & Antiquities of the County of Northampton" published in 2 volumes, London, 1822-1830. See vol II page 129, Cleley Hundred, parish of Cosgrave. Only 3 generations of Hanslopes are quoted: Winemar of Flanders had 2 sons; his son Michael's daughter & heiress Maud married William Maudit, and this chart then continues another 4 generations to Isabel Maudit who married William de Beauchamp. Hence the Beauchamp Earls of Warwick who inherited the Earldom through Isabel who was sister & heiress of Earl William Maudit.

Winemar had a 2nd son Walter Fitz-Winemar aka Walter de Preston, temp. King Henry I, who married Olanna. For their posterity Baker tells us to see the parish of Preston Deanry, but my notes ran out at that point: are they perhaps your ancestors?

For 2 related pedigrees, see vol I page 414, Fawsley Hundred, parish of Norton, chart labelled "Earls of Mellent; and Newburgh, Plessetis, and Mauduit, Earls of Warwick" which gives the Newburgh line down to Isabel. Also vol II pages 218/9, Cleley Hundred, parish of Pottespury, where you'll find a splendid chart for the Beauchamp Earls of Warwick.
