Family Stories: Grandma Weber lived/worked in a person's home where she ate scraps and neck of chicken in the kitchen. When the family moved to Illinois she could eat at the table of the family for whom she worked and have any piece of chicken. When she wrote of this to her mother, her mother's reply was that if she continued to lie she would have to come home. The family made and took 5 barrels of wine on the ship which they sold on board to help make the fee for their passage.
