Richard Andrew Kilgore, age 53, of Bean Station, went to be with his Savior on Thursday, November 27, 2008, after a lingering illness.
He was born on July 21, 1955, to the late Andrew Jackson "A.J." Kilgore and Virgie Inman Kilgore Calfee. He professed his faith in Jesus on May 22, 1988, at Houston Northwest Baptist Church in Houston, TX. A disabled veteran, Richard was an Arm y Ranger with the 82nd Airborne who served in active combat in Grenada and tours abroad. He was stationed at Fort Bragg, NC where he earned the Army Service Ribbon, Parachute Badge, M-16 Expert Badge, Hand Grenade Expert Badge, the Army Good Condu ct Medal, the Combat Infantry Badge, The Army Achievement Medal, the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal and the Army Commendation Medal. He was trained as a Dragon Gunner, an EMT and his primary specialty as a Nuclear Biological Chemical Specialist . Rick was a member of VFW James M. Robertson Post 5266.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Sharon Ann Kilgore.
He is survived by his daughters, Rachel (Mrs. Stan) Williams of Morristown, Hilary and Josie Kilgore of Omro, WI, Samantha and Jessica Kilgore of Arcadia, FL; and his grandsons, Storm, Walker and Keaton Williams; sisters and brothers-in-law, Tere sa and Mike Pedigo and Andrea and Bart Russell; nieces, Rebekah and Lauren Russell and DeAnna Pedigo; nephews Benjamin Pedigo, John and David Russell. Aunts Novella Laster, Kate Rippetoe, Mildred Kilgore and many loved cousins.
The family will receive friends at First Baptist Church White Pine on Sunday, November 30, 2008, from 1-3 p.m. with the service immediately following at 3 p.m. Rev. Randy Irons and Rev. Brian Osborne officiating.
The family will meet for an 11:00 a.m. graveside service and interment at Kidwell's Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery Monday, December 1, 2008. Pallbearers are Jackie Kilgore, Gary Kilgore, Steve Rippetoe, Kevin Dubose, Benjamin Pedigo, David Russell , John Russell and Tommy Crosby.
