    L. V. Kruse was one of the crew lost when the tanker J. A. Chanslor was wrecked off the jagged rocks off Cape Blanco, Oregon on December 18.

    He was a son of the late Captain A. O.. Kruse.

    Besides his mother he is survived by two brothers, Captain Fritz Kruse of Portland and Bert Kruse of Kansas. His grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. C. O. Inman (Cyprian Inman) of Kelso, Wash., and many other relatives and friends morn his loss.

    He served in the 25th Artillery Company during the war.
