It was there that she met and married James Scott Bookless in 1874. To this union seven children were born, three boys and four girls. One daughter, Grace, died in March 18931 at the age of 17 years. Mr. Bookless had a daughter, Frances
Adelaide ("Addie"), by a previous marriage.

bank home about 2.5 miles directly north of Abbyville.
Jennie was truly a typical pioneer woman. She was known for her ability to weave at an old-fashioned loom she had purchased in 1909. As long as she was able, she loved to weave rugs for her friends. At the time of her death, the old loom still
stood at the Bookless farm as a monument of pride and a memorial to her pioneer spirit.
Jennie was converted to the Christian faith early in childhood and was a faithful member of the Methodist Church until the end. However, for a brief time she was a member of the United Brethern Church in the community of Nickerson. She loved
the Christian life and was confident until the end that all was well with her soul. She was a great lover of her home and her family and she loved her friends and counted them as very dear to her.
In addition to her children, she left 21 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. She was buried in Salem Cemetery, with services being held in the First Methodist Chuch on 27 May 1944 at 2:30 p.m., the Rev. Oscar Matthew presiding.
