      Text: 1-1-4-4-9. Mary Ellen, b. 2,14,1852; m. 1,14,1868, Harvey Dixon, son of Rafael and Cabbie Dixon. She died 10,19,1927. They moved to Prineville, Oregon after they were married. Later moved 2 mile s N.E. of Burns, Oregon. He was a mule packer. Both are buied in Burns Cemetery. He died 5,25,1912.

      Biography. Mary Ellen Demaris was born in Iowa, Feb 14, 1851. She came across the plains with her parents when she was 12 years old to Walla Walla, Washington.
      She was married to Harvey Dixon, Jan 14, 1868, moving shortly after to Prineville, Oregon. From there they moved to Burns, Oregon in 1883, where they continued to make their honme on a stock ran ch near Burns, Oregon, until Harvey Dixon died May 25, 1912. Mary Ellen Dixon continued to manage the ranch for several years, after which she disposed of her holdings and moved to Burns to make he r home, and died at the home of her daughter Sarah Etta (Dixon) Baker, October 19, 1927.
