Well I FINALLY got the death certificate for my grandma, and it provestome that she mus t b e the Wilhem on the 1882 ship. Everythingmatches, thenumber of years here, her birth dat e etc . Says her father isAugustKobernus. Mothers maiden name looks more like Lange, or Lurge , ratherthat Lungert, but I can't be sure of the writing. Doesn't seem tohaveanything after t he l ast e, but there is a little line. If I couldsend acopy of the certificate, could you ma yb e look it over better? Ordo youboth know all of this. You are Maybe way ahead of me. B u t atleast nowI know the Minnie that died in 1916 and the one that died in1920, bothlive d a t 1118 Warren St. Evanston, and were my grandma andgreat grandma. That is a big step fo r m e ! Still trying to find out moreabout August. As soon as I get a few things straightene d ou t on my tree,I will sendyou the descendants List of August and Minnie, down my line,if y o u wantit. Hope to hear from you soon. Dolly

I have to answer a little at a time. Have lots of little things to put
    together.

I had a marriage certificate for Minnie Kobenuz and Henry Behrendt
with the name of the pastor at the bottom. I am on this Cook Co. list on
the net and asked what church might be in the Lake View area, where they
were both listed as living. Got an answer that St. Lukes Luth. wouldlikely
be the one, and that I could maybe get information fromConcordiaHistorical
Institute, or Evangelical Luth. Church in America. Wrote to both, Latter
has no records. I had written mainly trying to find a death date forAugust
Kobernuss, but asked for any info on Behrendts and Kobernus's. Concordia
sent me letter. No death listed for any Kobernuss. The only marriagelisted
is the one I already had license for, but now have their full names and
where they are from. She is Wilhelmina ELISE Carolina KOBENUS, born 17,
March, 1863 (which I believe they typed wrong. I believe it is supposed to
be 1873 as He was born in 1863, and on other marriage license and 1920
Census - she is always 10 years younger than him) Born at Hesseldorf,Demni,
Pomerania, married 18 May 1889. Witnesses Carl Behrendt (my grandpas
brother) and Anna Kobenus ( I believe to be her sister) I also have a
marriage cert. that I had sent for for a Bertha Kobenuz, thinking itwould
be the other sister. David had listed a Bertha married to a Lewis(orLouis)
Voss. I got a cert. for a Bertha Kobenuz of Lake View(same place asMinnie)
by the same pastor, but this Bertha is married to a John Voss. and her age
would be older than the Bertha on the ship list that I got from you. Maybe
the daughter of another Kobenuz or just wrong age again, and she married a
John instead of a Louis. Marriage was in 1887. Same pastor, but wasnotsent
to me in the Concordia list. I just keep holding on to these things trying
to put them all together. I will send city directory addresses forAugustin
a seperate letter. I have got to find a death date for him !!!!!
    Dolly
