    Karl came over with his parents in 1852, from Niederhagen, Germany, and
    settled on a farm in Rockland, WI. he received 80 acres by patent,from the
    U. S. by the president, James Buchanan. so recorded 10/28/1887, in vol.45,
    pg. 356
    Serving in the Civil war with brother Christian, M. Krueger, was alsoinco G, 7th
    Wi. inf. reg. from 10/3/1864-6/19/1965, when he was discharged from a
    hospital, near Washington DC. A pention of $6.00 a month, starting3/6/1895
    was received for partial inability to earn support by manual labor,hesuffered
    from Brights disease, heart trouble, cataracts, rheumatism,varicoseveins, and other complai n ts. He signed his name in German scriptas KarlB. , but also went by Charles B, & now Car l B . Other informationfromthe pension papers was that he had 9 Children but only Edward wa slivi ngat the time-1898; the marriage certificate was lost in moving andbothwitnesses, (Mes srs. B rochert. and Sturm
    were deceased.)
    Charles and his wife sold the farm to their son Edward on 2/3/1892for$3,000
    on 4/16/1909 Edward D. and Bertha Krueger sold the property toWilliamSchmidt,
    who sold to John Schmidt in 1918. The present owner is LelandKreplinesince
    1958, the Edward Krueger family moved north to Rural Shawano, and nomoreis known.
