    Hi,

    I came across your posting for Ruby Z. Kobernus. I believe she is married to a relative of mine who passed away. Gerald Peter Boelman. I am including his obit so that you can see if they are related.

    Gerald Boelman


    The Funeral Services for Gerald Boelman of the New Richland Care Center will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the LeSueur River Lutheran Church, rural New Richland. The Rev. Charl es Espe will officiate. Interment will be in St. Peter's Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Friedri ch Funeral Home, New Richland, and one hour before the serv ice at the church. Military honors will be accorded.
    Gerald died Sept. 15, 2001, at the New Richland Care Center. He was 82 years old.

    Gerald was born Aug. 20, 1919, at Rudd, Iowa, to Carl and Harke (Helmers) Boelman. He married Ruby Kobernus on May 4, 1943 at teh LeSueur River Lutheran Church parsonage in New Richland. Gerald resided most of his life near St . Olaf Lake, rural New Richland. He was a member of LeSueu r River Lutheran Church where he was baptized and confirmed . Gerald worked as a farmer, carpenter, and custodian for t he New Richland School and his church. Gerald was a vetera n of the Army adn served during World War II. He was a memb er of the American Legion of New Richland. Gerald enjoyed d oing carpenter work.

    Gerald is survived by his wife, Ruby Boelman of New Richland; three children, Merle Boelman of Eden Prairie, Perry Boelman and his wife Patricia of Manassas, Va., and thei r children, Eric Boelman of North Carolina, and Christopher Boelman of Florida, and Sheryl Graves and her husband Dick of Mankato, and their children, Anson Graves of Mankato , and Brandon Graves and his wife Jennifer of Shakopee; brother, Clarence Boelman and his wife Ann of Rochester, and many nieces and nephews.
    Gerald is preceded in death by his parents, Carl and H arke Boelman; son, Daryl Boelman; sisters, Edna Hatle and her husband Weslie, and Marie Burns and her husband George; sister Henrietta Boelman; and brother, Peter Boelman.
