    1. Choptank Island is now called Tilghman Island. It was first surveyed for Seth Foster in 1659. From him it passed to the Wardes and then by marriage to the Tilghmans. "Choptank Island" - 1200 a., surveyed 8-11-1659 for Seth Foster.
