Nehemiah was a carpenter, and left his tools to his brother. In 1658, James Underwood was found guilty and fined for insinuating that Hannah Howard had had improper relations with Mr. Jeremiah Hubbard, the Topsfield parson who was a sore trial to his parishioners. In the same court Hannah, wife of Nehemiah Howard, was presented for having borne a child 32 weeks after marriage. Her parents testified in her favor and she was acquitted.
Nehemiah's will mentioned his wife Annah, father Nickolas Hayward, brothers Nathaniel Hayward and John Dickey.
