Directly related to a founding family of Schenectady, her father, Leonard Vedder, a Spanish American War Veteran, along with her mother, Gladys, owned the first truck in Schenectady. She was the widow of Harold A. Fonda of Schenectady, a thirty-third Degree Freemason and a Shriner. Maida was the mother of Jeffrey Vedder Fonda, of Northampton, N.Y. Maida was the grandmother of Anne M. (Slepski) of Clifton Park, James J. of New Britain Ct., Jerome J. of Albany, Jesse J. of Northville, and Jarrett J. of Baldwinsville. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren; three nieces and three nephews; and seven grand-nephews and three grand-nieces. Maida was a first-cousin to the Wright family of Schenectady. At the time of her death she was the loving wife of William Guenther of Jensen Beach, FL. Maida was a graduate of Nott Terrace High School and the Ellis School of nursing. Maida, as a retired LPN, became a land developer in Fulton County and the Treasure Coast of Florida. She was an accomplished artist in several mediums. She was proud to be a benefactor of the Central Park Rose Garden in Schenectady and the Shriner's Children's Hospital. There are no public services planned. She will be with the loved ones who preceded her and her Savior, Jesus; while all who loved her and will miss her, celebrated her life while she was alive and she'll be interred in their hearts forever.
