  • ID: I00695
  • Name: Marcus Scherek
  • Sex: M
  • Birth: 1781 in Poznan, Wielkopolskie, Poland
  • Death: 7 SEP 1863 in Poznan, Wielkopolskie, Poland
  • Reference Number: 696
  • Note:
Then there is a will of Marcus Scherek who we already knew about (his widowed was Taube Blume nee David Skamper), but the will lists their children living in America which may be interesting to you, these were Abraham, Schmul Nohem, Bertha married with Jacob Scherek (a cousin?) and Hanchen married with Jacob Zwittman.
Marcus was a grave digger - this was written in the "profession" column. I know that this category was kind of pariahs among Jews. Still, he was apparently rich enough to leave his will in the city documents.
