Redfield, youngest son of Colonel Redfield and Emily (Dutton) Proctor. was born at Proctor, Vermont, April 13, 1879. He was educated in the town schools in Pennsylvania and In Washington D.C. as well as the Massachusetts School of Technology. He has always been identified with the Vermont Marble Company, and is a director in the Company. He is vice-president of the Proctor Trust Company in the Rutland County National Bank in Rutland and is a trustee in the University of Vermont and the State Tuberculosis Hospital. He has served on the board of selectmen of the town, and is president of the village, which he represented in the legislature in 1912. He is a member of the Loyal Legion.
